Whorlton Hall

Whorlton Hall is a children’s home that provides care for up to five children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, both male and female aged between 10-17 years. The home is set in a tranquil setting surrounded by its own lawns, gardens and orchard. Whorlton Hall is situated 5 miles from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, 4 miles from Newcastle train station and 3 miles from Newcastle Airport. The home is also very close to Kyloe House Secure Unit (12 miles) and also to Hassocfield Secure Training Centre (13 miles). Whorlton Hall is able to offer therapeutic intervention for children and young people alongside privately commissioned clinical psychologists and therapeutic workers with regard to issues such as anger management, attachment disorder and sexual abuse. Wherever possible the home also works closely with family members, particularly where there is a rehabilitation plan in place. In cases where care proceedings are ongoing, the home is able to provide progress and/or supervised contact reports. The home is also able to facilitate education, provided by a qualified teacher.
