Hopscotch Care

Hopscotch Care is a new company based in Carnforth Lancashire with Marje Simpson as Registered Manager.

Marje has over 30 years experience of looking after children and young people and for the last 6 years before coming to Lancaster Road she has been managing  a home for the local authority deemed "outstanding" at all the Ofsted inspections.

Marje's great strength is her experience of looking after hundreds of young people with every conceivable type of emotional and behavioural problem, Her implicit belief is that every young person can make the transition from the care home to independent living if they are given the support, love and attention that they need. 

Hop Scotch Care will provide the best quality residential care facility for up to five children and young people from the ages of 12-17 on a long term basis but with the facility for emergency placement. The newly converted house has been designed to provide large comfortable accommodation on two floors for up to five boys and girls. The architect have produced a light airy and safe home with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, spacious bedrooms, a large lounge/sitting room, laundry, meeting room and office.

The Directors of the Company are aware of the competitive nature of the children’s’ care provision market and are determined to benchmark other organisations to ensure that the standards achieved by Hopscotch Care are the very best. The measurement of the Company’s success will not be based on the throughput of young people but the successful placement of them into the next stage of their lives.

Hop Scotch Care will use an outcome based framework and will work closely with the placing local authority to ensure that we continue to respond to the changing needs of Children Looked After. The excellent local schools in Carnforth are experienced in providing the educational support necessary for looked after children and young people and there are a number of high quality further education establishments in Lancaster, Morecambe and Kendal that can support the vocational and educational ambitions of the older children and those making the transition into the Hopscotch Follow On care programme.

Hopscotch Care is located on the main A6 just a few minutes from the town centre, and Carnforth railway station which is just one rail stop (8 minutes) from Lancaster on the main West Coast Line. Carnforth is five minutes from Junction 35 of the M6 motorway.
