ROC (Northwest) Ltd provides specialist residential care and education for young people with physical, learning disabilities, ASD and complex needs with associated challenging behaviour. Mountwood Academy (DCSF registered) offers residential care/education for fifteen young people, with availability for a further ten day placements in the heart of Preston, Lancashire. Situated close to all amenities with excellent transport links, the train station being three minutes away on foot allowing access to the south and Scotland within two hours. Their team of specialist teachers, assistants and residential staff are supported through access to external therapists and psychological services. Mountwood is fully wheelchair accessible with ramps at every entrance a lift allowing access to all areas, wide corridors and bathroom/bedrooms catering for all mobility needs. Aroona is a detached property set within its own grounds, near to Lancaster and caters for four young people within the main house. Attached to Aroona is a purpose built, single occupancy dwelling which can either provide independence for young people who may be ready for semi independence or for a sole occupancy placement where a high degree of staff supervision is required. The young people’s environments are warm, welcoming and homely and are decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard.
