North Lakes Children’s Services

North Lakes Children’s Services provides care, accommodation and education for young people with Social, Emotional, Behavioural difficulties, Learning difficulties and Development challenges. Spread over two sites within close proximity to each other and the City of Carlisle, they currently provide two Children’s Homes and an Education Centre. All facilities are within ten minutes of junction 43 off the M6. Kirby Moor School is a purpose built DfES registered education centre and Kirby Moor House offers unique facilities and ensuite bedrooms for all young people. Woodend House is a few minutes away and also offers the same high quality facilities as Kirby Moor House. NLCS are dedicated to ensuring that each individual young person is provided with Bespoke Care and Education Packages to allow the young people to reach their goals and achieve their full potential. They treat each person as being unique, and realise that levels and areas of support required differ from one young person to the next. They achieve this by ensuring a high staff ratio consisting of dedicated, experienced and highly qualified members of staff. NLCS have just achieved an overall accreditation of ‘GOOD’ following the recent Key Inspection by OFSTED with elements of this being ‘OUTSTANDING’.
