Swanley House

Swanley House is based in Swanley, South East of London just off the M25, and accommodates up to eight young people, boys and girls (aged between ten to eighteen) who are diagnosed with severe learning disabilities who may also have physical problems and associated complex care needs These may include mobility issues, needs arising from sensory deprivation, communication needs, autistic spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and associated health needs i.e. epilepsy. Their overall purpose is to provide placement for such young persons that where possible mirrors the experiences and values of ‘ordinary family life’, and their aim is to provide a safe and structured environment that actively nurtures and cares for young people, affording them the same rights and opportunities as enjoyed by those not living ‘in care’, to enable them to reach their fullest potential in preparation for adulthood. Two bedrooms meet NMS requirements in respect of wheelchair users and one bedroom is fully equipped for disabled use . Also emergency placements can be taken.
